Teacup Yorkie Description: The Yorkie is one of the smallest dogs in the world. This wonderful breed is 4-7 inches in height, and weighs between two and five pounds. The Teacup Yorkie breed has a life expectancy of 11-15 years.

The Teacup Yorkie has a small head, that is flat on top, and they have a medium-sized muzzle. The Teacup Yorkies teeth meet in a scissor or level bite, and can be undershot. The breed has dark eyes, which are medium in size and not very prominent.

The Teacup Yorkies eye rims are dark. The ears are small, erect and are V shaped, the Yorkie ears are carried not to far apart. In some countries, the Teacup Yorkies tail are docked to a medium length, in countries where this is allowed.

The Teacup Yorkie coat is glossy, fine, and silky in texture. The hair on the body is moderately long and should be straight. The Teacup Yorkies hair on the head is long and should be tied up with a bow, or parted in the middle and tied with two bows this allows the dog to see and eat easier.

With the Teacup Yorkie breed, the hair on the muzzle is very long. The puppies are born black and tan, this changes as they grow older. Teacup Yorkie coat colors come in steal blue and tan, with the body and tail being blue and the rest of the dog is tan.

Teacup Yorkie History: The Yorkie breed comes from Yorkshire in England and was created by the working man, who wanted a dog that could catch the terrible rats and mice infected the mills and mine shafts.

The Teacup Yorkie is not an old breed and came into existence in the 19th century. Mary Ann Foster, who showed Yorkie dogs throughout Great Britain, helped define the type of the Yorkshire terrier.

The Teacup Yorkies is recognized today by many other names including: Tcup Yorkie, Tea Cup Yorkie, T Cup Yorkie and of course the name Yorkshire Terrier is even more popular than the name Yorkie and it's sometimes misspelled like this: Yorkshire Terier, Yorkshire Terrior, York Shire Terrier.
